Jan Hersey from Biz Point Communications speaks with Drew Graham from Varvid at the Social Media Conference 2010 NW. She is a writer and member of the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce. She knows that social media is important and came out to learn more about how it can help the city of Anacortes. The city has already started its branding process and is attempting to get more involved with twitter, facebook, etc.

Langstraat is the Associate Director for Advancement for Whatcom Community College. He appreciated the opportunity to attend the event, as he is charged with helping to determine how best to leverage Social Media for the school and its programs.
Nate also now sees the value in utilizing Video as a key part of their Social Media initiatives, after seeing speaker Aaron Booker of Varvid.com’s presentation on Online Video.
MTS, a geotechnical testing and engineering firm, doesnt currently utilize Social Media very heavily, but Brian Steele looks forward to being able to put some of the things hes learned today to work to move the firm that direction.
An important thing he learned is how to rethink the way MTSs legacy marketing and communications efforts connect with or relate to customers and their needs.
